On this page I will give some history as to where the
Knights have held their meetings in the past. As
indicated on our home page the
Knights started at St Augustine's in 1972 and have held their meetings at various places.
The Knights of Columbus hold their meetings in the Father Michael J. McGivney Hall (the smaller part of the building) that was dedicated on September 19, 2006. The dedication was covered by the Catholic Spirit , which is the newspaper of the Diocese of Metuchen. If you would like to read the article please click the link. |
The
Knights started out having their meetings in the school cafeteria and then moved to the projection room which is now the Augustine room. The meetings then moved to the basement of the old mission church (below).

This church held its first
Mass in 1953 and was used by the parish until the current church was
built. The Knights stayed here and were trying to purchase the "Elks" home on New Road in South Brunswick New Jersey, but when this didn't materialize the
Knights moved back to St.
Augustine to have their meetings. The meetings were held in the cafeteria, library and the conference room. When there was no room at the school the
Knights held their meetings at the
Consolata on Route 27 in Somerset New jersey. |
